If you wish to make a quotation more prominent, you select the passage and click the bquote button. The result varies from theme to theme – see here:

ARRGH! I highlighted your words, then clicked quote, then wrote my words underneath; and I’ve ended up with nothing of your words, and mine in quotes instead.
Sorry I’m still doing something wrong; can’t get the hang of it for some reason; it’s very frustrating.

Oh you mean here? I thought you meant your blog posts. To include a quotation when you post here, you copypaste the passage then highlight it and click the bquote button.

thanks for you help :) -
Ok I’m getting nearer lol
both parts are now here, I’ve just managed to get the wrong part in quotes!
-
both parts are now here
just trying it again, the first should be in quotes and this part NOT in quotes.
-
use the quote button correctly;
Last try! Only the first line above should be in quotes , none of this line.

OK – do it like this – it is easier. Type your bit – or whatever. Copy and paste the bit you want to quote. Put the cursor in the front, click the “quote’ button and it will put the code there AND change the button to /quote. Put the cursor at the end of the section you want quoted and click the now “/quote” button.
use the quote button correctly;

@ teamoyeniyi many thanks :)
Copy and paste the bit you want to quote.
Ok now trying :) – line 1 of ordinary text. line 2 of quote, and line 3 of ordinary text.

You can see if the quote, strong or any shortcode assigned well by clicking, “Check spelling”, at the top of this comment box, to avoid any typo.
