how long after an import does it take for my information to show?

Hi, I got an e-mail that my Xanga import was complete. I keep refreshing the WordPress site, though, and I’m not seeing the imported content. What gives?

It should be immediately visible. Are you still not seeing the imported content from Xanga?

Sorry you’re having this trouble.! I took a look, and I do not see a “stuck” import job in your dashboard.
Could you confirm that you followed all of the instructions listed here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/import-from-xanga/Please try to run that import again. If it doesn’t work, let me know asap, and I’ll take a look at those XML files to make sure the Xanga export looks good before we proceed.

Thanks for your quick response. Unfortunately, I tried the upload again, got confirmation, but still didn’t see the archived information.
Is there a way that I could upload you a copy of the .xml file? It’s almost 10mb.

Thanks for letting me know of the continued issue you’re having with the import. Try one last test for me: please import using the WordPress importer, rather than the Xanga link:
https://banrock.wordpress.com/wp-admin/import.phpIf that doesn’t work, I am happy to look at the file. I may need you to run your Xanga export again. If you exported Xanga content for WordPress, you should have received a .zip file that contained several XML files. It sounds as if you only have one file, however. True?
