How long after cancelling mapping will wordpress stop diverting to it
-
3 rd time I’ve posted – no staff response
I’ve cancelled mapping but I can only access my site which is now hosted elsewhere if I use a proxy ip
If I use my own ip and PC I get a WordPress mapping warning
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

this is only the second thread you have posted into – you were being helped in the other thread – no URL here that you want help with
But – based on the other thread http://www.brightondarts.co.uk/ – loads fine for me to a site that is not on WordPress.COM – you probably have a cache issue – either on your PC or on a router somewhere or your ISP

1st was private to staff on Saturday – no one replied so I made a public post .. Yes it’s not only me that can’t view it ..
From asking my visitors I’ve established that if you have visited in the past when it was hosted on WordPress u can’t see it .. Only new visitors are able to see it or if I use 3G mobile internet or a proxy ip it comes up ok

Then you have a caching issue – once the name server changes point away from WordPress.COM the domain mapping is not relevant –
it can take up to 72 hours it seems for changes to reach the far corners of the internet – during that time access to your site will be erratic – and yes if you visited the site before the changes then you will be slow to see the changes
about the only advice is to be patient – yes that is not good from your viewpoint

you be welcome
the first domain I changed was a killer – I could not see anything and nothing would work for me – finally called a friend up and had them check things our and it worked fine for him – sorry no shortcuts to glory it seems
