How long does it take shortlinks to change over when the blog url changes?

  I changed my blog url from downandoutmusic.wordpress.com to the current one, but right now all the shortlinks still point to dead pages on the old subdomain. How long does this take to migrate? Does it migrate?

  Hi there,

  I’m sorry, are you referring to alexhem.wordpress.com when you say you’ve changed your old blog URL to the current one? Or do you have a different web address that you’re referring to?

  Additionally, are you referring to the permalinks? Did you transfer the content from your old blog or simply start a new one?

  Actually, it looks like my question has been answered.
  My problem was that (for instance) http://wp.me/p1UoM-1F was resolving to http://downandoutmusic.wordpress.com/2007/12/26/after-a-pause/ instead of the correct, new address http://alexhern.wordpress.com/2007/12/26/after-a-pause/. But now it is! So the answer to “how long” is apparently “about six hours”
