How long does it take to free up the e-mail address?

    I changed my email address on my blog (in all settings) and now I am waiting for freeing up of the previous email address I used. Can you please someone advice me how long does it take to free up the e-mail address? I want to register another blog with the previous email address, but it still says: “That email address has already been used”.
    As I read in the help http://en.support.wordpress.com/email-address/ changing the email address in my user profile will allow me to free up the e-mail address and I will be able to use it for another registration. Does it take hours, days or weeks?

    I can’t find where is says it will free up the email but instead using the Gmail trick so it appears as different email even though it’s the same email

    Here’s what the FAQ’s have to say

    There is a trick that works with Gmail (and possibly other email providers) to let you use one email address as though it were several different addresses. Gmail lets you add “+something” to your mailbox name and still get your mail. For example, [(email visible only to moderators and staff)] and (email visible only to moderators and staff) and [(email visible only to moderators and staff)] each look like different addresses to our system but they all route mail to the same inbox: [(email visible only to moderators and staff).]
