How long does it take to release a domain?

  I bought a domain on WordPress yesterday, cancelled it today, and now want to purchase it through a different site. I didn’t realise there would be a delay before it becomes available again to the public pool. Do you know how long this usually takes in this case?

  Since you cancelled within a day, the domain should become available again relatively quickly, typically within 24-48 hours after cancellation.

  However, the exact timing can vary depending on the domain extension (.com, .org, etc.) and registry processing times. Once it’s released back to the public pool, you’ll be able to register it through any domain registrar.

  Keep in mind that once it’s available, anyone can register it, so you’ll want to act quickly when it becomes available again.
