How Long for Custom Domain to be Transferred

Hi Everyone, I changed my domain from my free WordPress domain to a custom domain I bought from WordPress yesterday. The process seemed simple. I just needed to click one button to change the primary to domain to the one I own.
However, my website has been down for over half a day. Does anyone have any experience with how long it might be down? I have a help message in by email but haven’t heard back. I thought it might be quicker to get help from the community.

Hi Everyone,
Here is a quick update: I kept looking around and saw that I was not using WordPress name servers. I thought this might help, so around 10am (Tues. Apr. 25/23) I switched the name servers of my domain to WordPress name servers. That was the only thing I could figure out that might help.
My website is still down. I hope that it is up soon. If there is anything more I can do, I would really appreciate some help.

Can you confirm the address of the URL you purchased yesterday. The address you gave above was Registered with Tucows back in May 2021 (but the nameservers do point to WordPress.com).

Thank you so much for helping me!
Just to clarify, I have owned the domain since May2021. So that is me that bought it back then. I was using it on another host (Kajabi) up until yesterday when I changed it.
The address is http://www.halfacrehomestead.ca I hope that is clearer.
I have to go to town now and I don’t own a smart phone, so I will not be able to see any responses for a few hours.
