how long is an domain not available?

My site was having multiple issues that I was not able to fix by deleting everything. I couldn’t navigate to other pages, or see posts I had made even tho they showed in my history from the dashboard. After several attempts at fixing the issue I figured since there was nothing I couldn’t quickly fix I’d just delete the site. However, I’m guessing that was a bad idea because now the domain my son wanted is not available. How long before a deleted site address is available to use again?

Domains are never recycled at WordPress.COM even to the original owner
What is the URL you deleted?
A note for the next time – there is NOTHING you can do to a WordPress.COM blog that can’t be fixed with some help from the forum or the staff EXCEPT deleting your site

It doesn’t matter what the url was if I can’t get it back. I started a new one, and I’ll look harder for an answer next time. I should have just left it till morning because I was so frustrated and not thinking straight.

Sorry did not have better news
but I ask because sometime people manage to hide a blog URL or mess up the name and have trouble – so thus the question – but if you see the “This blog has been deleted by the author” that is the genuine bad news

More telling was when I logged in the next morning, it said you don’t have a site start one now. I honestly thought I’d hit the start over option, but must have clicked on the actual delete. I honestly didn’t read the notice cause I was just so blasted worked up. I’ve coded sites from scratch before, granted it was a good bit ago, so it was just so annoying that something that should have been a quick fix, was literally stumping me.

Sometimes the site not available is caused by a typo – but I expect you don’t have a site is another bad news thing
