How long is material maintained on wordpress after entries cease?

A friend of mine died recently. He posted a great deal of writing on a wordpress blog. I would like to preserve this writing for possible use in an article about him. Is there some way I can insure that his blog is not taken down, now that he is deceased? -Lou Knowles

The blog will remain as long as the owner did not delete it, or someone who claims ownership to the account chooses to delete it.
