When I go in export they say to me ‘already in progress’. I don’t know why it’s take so long, do you know? I have 229 post on this old blog but i don’t know if it’s the reason ?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
To move your blog to a self-hosted (WordPress.org) blog, you need to export your content from the WordPress.com blog and then import it into your new blog. Just to confirm, does the “already in progress” message appear when you export your blog from WordPress.com or when you import it into the new blog?
-
It’s appear when I export my blog from WordPress.com …
And now, I don’t know why but the email adress where they will sent an email to say “hi your export is finish” have changed and it’s not mine.. I’m a little bit scared -
Hi there,
Our team is working on a new export of your site, so you may see a different email address or information listed on that export page — please don’t worry. :) I will let you know as soon as I have more information about that new export that we are working on for you.

Hi there,
Ok, your site is ready to export now. :) Please go to Tools > Export > Start Export to start exporting your site again. If you have any more trouble with it, please let me know!
-
I did it again and it still say “An export for this site is already in progress. A download link will be sent to “(email visible only to moderators and staff)” when the export has finished.”.. The problem it’s still there I think..
(Sorry about the person who have this adress, I send a mail a little bit angry, I was affraid that the person took all my files.. I was scared oops !)
-
Ah, sorry about that! I asked our team to reset the exporter for your site so you can start that new export — I will let you know once it’s ready for you to do the export again.
-
We’ve reset the exporter once again, and you should be able to export without further issue.

Hi ! I can export now but.. when I want to import, wordpress.org doesn’t recognize the file + a friend of mine change a little the file so wordpress.org can take the file, but there is just 4 articles of my blog.. There is 230 articles on this blog !!

Hi there,
When you export the site, it sends you a .zip file that contains your WordPress.com site’s export files. You will need to extract the .zip file to get the files to import into your WordPress.org site. (If you try to import the .zip file directly into the WordPress.org site, it won’t recognize the file type.) Also, you will get multiple files for your site, and you will need to import all of the files to get all of your content.
Is that what your friend did, or did they make a different change?
-
Yes this is exactly what my friend did and it’s work pretty well for the moment.
Do you know if it’s possible to export the media that I put in my 3 go in wordpress.com? he didn’t get how he can have it, it’s always appear like an error -
When you use the WordPress importer to import your content to another site, it will automatically pull the media from your WordPress.com site into the new WordPress.org site. There’s no need to export anything before you do the import.
If you run into any trouble with that, I’d recommend looking at the WordPress.org guide to Importing Content for more tips. You can also post in the WordPress.org forums for more help with that import. (WordPress.com staff don’t have the tools and access to help with the import on your WordPress.org site unless you use our Guided Transfer service.)
