How long to import the XML file into new hosted blog

How long should it take to import the XML file into my new hosted wordpress blog. I just went with Bluehost for a hosted blog and personal website domain. I exported the xml file from my crazy4subscriptionboxes.wordpress.com site and trying to import into http://www.crazy4subscriptionboxes.com and it is taking very long but I don’t know how long is normal. It’s been 15 minutes. I have stopped the process of couple times and retried but sill taking an excessive time. My xml file is size 795 KB. Thank you.

It make take 24 hours because you are waiting in queue with many others trying to use the importer during prime time on the internet in North America.
Note also that issue you describe is a WordPress. ORG issue. You are posting to the wrong support forum. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have separate logins. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.org, click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post there.

I get it can take 24 hrs for actual migration but this is that when importing the browser status indicator just keeps spinning without making any progress. Unless you’re saying I can expect my browser to “spin” for 24hrs. If so I’ll just let it keep going. ALso, thanks for tip on different support forum. I’ll set myself up there. Thanks I am new to .org and learning as I go ;)
