How long to recover a deleted domain

    Hey, I got my wordpress premium plan along with a domain name yesterday and then realized that there are no options for plugins. So I deleted my plan along with the domain name not knowing that the name doesn’t become publicly available immediately. So how many days does it take for the account to become publicly available for registration?

    Hey there,

    As you mentioned the domain is not immediately released back into the publically available pool, and will go through several stages prior to release. This process does not have a definitive timeline and can take some time to process. Additionally, some domain resellers look for recently canceled domains to register when they become available.     In this case, I strongly recommend purchasing the domain again through us. We can submit a manual payment in order to purchase the domain and have it restored to your account. You can then use the domain with WordPress.com, or any other hosting provider or service. Once the registration lock is released, you can also transfer the domain to another registrar if you prefer.

    Waiting for the domain to be released in order to re-purchase it will take an unspecified amount of time, and may not be possible if the domain is registered by another party before you are able to do so.
