How long until changed wordpress url is live?

  Hi guys,

  Say I change my username from oldname to newname and therefore my wordpress blog URL from oldname.wordpress.com to newname.wordpress.com, how long until I can start creating content on newname.wordpress.com?

  I ask because I changed my username and my associated blog doesn’t show up in my profile- wordpress says I have zero blogs now. And wordpress also says that my equivalent of newname.wordpress.com already exists (since it should be my blog now) however I can’t access it.

  Hi there – I see your username is currently mbavideogamer and you previously had a blog named mbavideogamer.wordpress.com, but you deleted it. Is that the blog you’re trying to get back or is there another username/blog you’re trying to access?

  Precisely!- Except I thought I clicked on the option to delete my old blog address and migrate it to mbavideogamer.wordpress.com, not delete mbavideogamer.wordpress.com! Is there anything you can do to help?
