How many concurrent add to cart before going down (or upgrading to VIP)?

We are launching a new Woocommerce store next week with an influencer with more than 300k followers.
We have previous experience with self hosted Woocommerce that crashed a few times due to too many add to carts.
So my question is, how many add to cart can we have, let’s say per minute, before the website slows down and crashes on WordPress.com PRO?
    Does it scale well?
I know that every site is different, ours is quite simple, with AJAX add to cart DISABLED.
Can I have a rough estimate?

  • I’m afraid that we don’t have a rough estimate to provide.

Our services are built to handle a lot, we have multiple layers of caching built-in.
There are many variables, it will largely depend on the site, the content, plugins used, and theme.

We do host many large stores that have large followings. It’s not uncommon for these stores to do special releases that drive a lot of traffic to their sites and we handle it without issue. It all depends on how optimized a site is.
Unoptimized admin-ajax and Woo Ajax calls, or anything that would break caching like cookies and PHP sessions, may lead to issues.

    WooCommerce Summary
WordPress.com earned Top Tier status year. Perfect uptime. The second fastest K6 average response time. A solid Load Storm test. They also absolutely showed off on the WebPageTest results taking 10/12 fastest response times. The fastest WP Bench I’ve ever seen and the second fastest PHP Bench. A definite Top Tier performance.
