How many domains can i add on a single plan ?

  • Unknown's avatar

Hello, i would like to know how many domains can run if i purchase the business plan? Or do i have to make multiple accounts for each domain & business plan ? I would like to buy 10-15 domains then connect them here with the business plan, is that possible?

    Thanks,

    Alex

  • Hi there,

Once you purchase a plan, you can purchase and add as many domains as you like without needing another plan.

For more information on registering domains, please visit:

Ok, so, once i purchase the business plan and let’s say i will add 15 domains from my domain registrar and they will run separately and i can add different themes to each domain and i can configure the settings for each domain separately, is that correct?

    Thanks,

    Alex

I’ve read everything here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/register-domain/#instructions-for-registering-a-new-domain, but i couldn’t find the information that i’m asking above.

    Thanks,

    Alex

  • Ah, I thought you meant that you wanted to purchase several domains that lead to the same site. If you want add domains that lead to different sites, that is different. You have to have a plan per site and by default you are under the free plan. If you want business plan features for each of your sites, you must purchase a business plan for each of them. With that comes a custom domain that will be a part of each of these plans.

Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

Ok, so then it’s possible to connect 15 domains to WordPress from where i registered them, pay for 15 business plans and manage each domain separately under the same account without any coding, is that correct/possible?

P.S. I don’t plan to do this now, i will do it in 2020 or 2021, right now i’m caught up in some really stressful work and i don’t have the time.

    Thanks,

    Alex

Also, does the WordPress plan comes with a cPanel ?

WordPress.com doesn’t come with cPanel access on any plan.

Please see a detailed explanation on this thread:

That is correct. If you are wanting 15 different sites each with a custom domain and Business Plan features under one account, you’ll need to purchase a Business Plan for each. However, what type of sites are you building? With this amount of sites that you are needing, looking into and talking with VIP might be a good idea for you as well:

I would reach out to them with what you are looking to do and they may be a better choice with as much content it looks like you’re going to need to create:

Ok, and how exactly do I do this? Do I need to purchase the business plan first and then add the domain, and then, do I need to do that over and over and over again for every single site that I would like to add on my account? I have some great ideas and original content that I would like to share with the world and monetize it. I would like to start with 2-3 websites and then build up to 15-20 websites that would have different topics that I love :D, maybe hire some writers in the future, or people could submit original content and get paid for it ( Can I do this ? Is that legal ? ) So is it correct how I put it ? First I will have to buy the business plan, then add the domain and does it work multiple times? One more thing, I would like to keep the domains on a different site, pay the bills for them there and just connect them on WordPress after I purchased the plan, can I do that for every single domain? For example let’s say I have 2 registered domains on GoDaddy.com and I would like to add them both on WordPress, do I have to purchase the business first plan for the domain, then connect it and then do the same thing for the second domain? Is this how it’s supposed to work ? If not, how ? Thanks, Alex

  • Do I need to purchase the business plan first and then add the domain, and then, do I need to do that over and over and over again for every single site that I would like to add on my account?

Go to My Site ->Plans and buy the plan. Then go to My Site ->Manage ->Domains ->Add Domain to register the domain.

Next go to My Sites ->Switch Site and select the next site, and repeat those steps. Do this for every site you want to update.

As long as you adhere to our user guidelines, you can create as many sites as you want, and post whatever you want on them. We have no problem with it if you pay other people to create content for you, as long as the content is original.

I cannot advise you whether or not this is legal as I’m not a lawyer, and don’t know the laws that might be governing this type of thing wherever you live, but I highly doubt that it won’t be.

One more thing, I would like to keep the domains on a different site, pay the bills for them there and just connect them on WordPress after I purchased the plan, can I do that for every single domain?

You can do this using our domain mapping option, yes.

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/

It will still require a paid plan on each separate site you want to connect to its own domain.

Hi guys, thanks for the help i really appreciate it! It means a lot to me!

Until i will create my first website through WordPress i would like to post here all the questions that i have so it will make it easier for me when i will launch my first site.

The question that i have right now is:

I would like to purchase in the future a theme(or more themes) from a third-party website and i would like to know what is the max file size for a theme to upload it on WordPress with the Business Plan active and if it says that the theme file size is too big how can i change that so i can upload the theme that i want.

    Thanks,

    Alex

P.S. I am allowed to post in this topic different questions in the near future or should i create a separate topic for each question that i have ?

    Thanks,

    Alex

  • Hi Alex,

We’ve had good success with file sizes up to 1 GB, but themes range from a few to a couple hundred MB. So you won’t have any trouble uploading large themes.

I am allowed to post in this topic different questions in the near future or should i create a separate topic for each question that i have ?

It’s best to create new topics for different questions as this also help other users to search and find answers to similar questions they might have.
