How many "Grandchild Pages" can I create on Simfo
-
I am interested in purchasing Simfo, but would like to ask about its flexibility in its Headers.
Will I be able to create an infinite amount of sub-sub header (Grandchild Page)? For example:
Main Header (A Parent Page) : Artists
Sub Header (Second Child Page): A-F
Sub-Sub Header (Grandchild Page): Alexander Allen
Peter Brandon
Jane Eli
Harry Fitzmaurice
Luke Ford
and etc…Thank you for the help.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Thank you for the reply.
May you please clarify if the total of 88 refer to the specific theme (Simfo) that I have mentioned, or does it apply to any theme on WordPress?
In other words, is the maximum for any blog (with whichever theme) on WordPress, 88 pages/subpages?
Thank you.

We are an art gallery and would need unlimited pages to upkeep with our artists list.
Is unlimited pages something that wordpress offers?

The theme is irrelevant. You can create as many pages and sub-pages as you like. However, the combined maximum total of Pages and sub-pages that can be displayed in a custom menu is 88. There is no upgrade you can purchase here that changes that.

@tt – now that’s an interesting bit of info. Thanks for sharing where you read it.
@amsterdamwhitney-pity the poor visitor who has to navigate endless pages on a website. Keeping your navigation simple is keep to happy visitors. As a visitor I might want to see:
Main Artists with an A-Z list directly on that page and a link to the artist’s sub (child) page, which doesn’t need to be in the menu bar. -

I’m multitasking and don’t have time to search using Google for 2012 or 2013 threads on this. I recall that the ceiling for displaying in a custom menu is a combined total of 88 pages (read that as items) and/or sub-pages (read that as sub-items).

I’m thinking 2012 may have been the year that was discovered but it could have been earlier.

@justjennifer
I think that may be it. I notice I did not revisit the thread and post into it again after Staff did so more may be possible. If so I apologize for posting an incorrect answer.Bottom line: How many users can one expect to be faced with 88 or more page and/or sub-page links and actually click through into them? I cannot imagine loading that many sub-pages links.

I certainly would not want to have to navigate through that many menu items. One good sneeze and jerk of a mouse and it’d kick me out. Better to have the links on a page directly IMO.
2012 was a good year, but it’s also vintage. Maybe we should tag this and see if that’s still the case?

Heya,
I just ran a quick test (well, not so quick, I just had to manually add them myself and then count the menu items, which was not so quick), but it appears that we have increased the limit past the original 88 which was in the thread which was referenced previously. I got to well over 125 before getting tired of counting, with items being in a variety of locations, including in sub-sub menu location.
You should be good to go.

@amightywp
Hi there,
Thanks so much for checking. When I answer this question in the future, shall I say: “125 or greater?” Or shall I just say just say: “Unlimited?” -
Thanks for checking. I went ahead and added more. You know, just for funsies. You can have at least 200 menu items with no known limit.
