How many viewers can be added to a private blog?

I am trying to decide if I should use a WP blog for family and friends. I don’t want it to be available to the public, but I’m not sure if I will be limited to 10 viewers if I decide to be private. I don’t want to send out an invite to test it until I know if I can invite 20 people. Thanks.

The following is taken from an article, though it is dated 2012, I haven’t seen much else on the subject:
For those of you with a private blog, we lifted the previous limit of 35 users allowed to access it. From now on, you can add as many authorized users as you wish, from the Settings → Privacy section of the dashboard.
