How many wordpress versions_

  Hi,

  I set up a blog here in wordpress.com, but I can-t figure out which version it is. This version seems very different, and more complete, compared to another one I set up in a hosting service, where I have version 2.1.

  Anybody can help me understand how manyu versios are there around and wich one is installed in wordpress.com

  The version you’re using here is the wordpress.com version. That’s it. It doesn’t really make sense to slap numbers on it because it changes on a daily basis. It is based on WordPress Multi User but much of the code here is proprietary and not available elsewhere.

  It is indeed very different from the versions which are available for self-hosting. It’s more advanced, but because it’s a multiuser system it doesn’t equate directly with any of the numbers there.

  ok, thank you, I asked because I have to figure out where to host some new big blogs. I preferred my actual hosting because I can manage better system aspects, but if it is not possible to have the best version I am experiencing here….it is ok…if newspaper Le Monde is here, I can do it also.

  We’re running what can be considered version 2.2 code when compared to regular wordpress code.

  It is a different codebase but some of the code is shared.

  If you feel up to it, you can pull it down via SVN. That’s a topic best dealt with over at http://wordpress.org though.
