How much traffic do I need for Word Ads?

How much traffic do I need for Word Ads? I realise I need to upgrade to a domain but Im wondering if it will then be an option when I do?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The staff have never published guidelines for the traffic requirements
I have seen the figure 100,000 page views a year kicked around as being necessary to make a few Pizza’s a year in revenue
Expecting to get rich on ads is not realistic – it takes a lot of traffic to make any money, if you look at the cost of ads then divide that by two and the page views to make significant money goes up in a hurry
-
I remember that there was a support page which was mentioned 25.000/30.000 page views a month (but they have been deleted).

When I was sent an invitation when they started WordAds – I went and checked a few web sites to see what the cost to buy ads was – then did the math for 50k & 100k page views and it was a small amount – was not worth it to me.
staff-blorbo (one of the WordAds group) has said that some folks make some “nice money” what ever that is – @Raincoaster grumbles about the low payout rate –
I think the payout varies on where your traffic comes from and the demographics – U.S. traffic pays better – high income demographics are also good – so it is very hard to give solid estimates – I have never seen a solid number anywhere

We can no longer release the exact minimum, but I can definitely say that it is indeed much lower than that.

“Nice money” as in they make their living off of their blog and WordAds. :)

That is all very true.

I made fifteen bucks on the first two weeks of http://TheCryptosphere.com, but I’ll be very interested to see the payout for August. We got featured in Gawker, Mother Jones, and PC Mag.

I agree, I’m looking forward to it. Cryptoshphere is only a little more than a month old, but as your audience grows, so will your earnings, and have indeed targeted a strong audience. :)

One day I’ll break Freshly Pressed. I’ve been using kittens as editor bait, but they might be too hardcore, for kittens.

Raincoaster, are you able to share about what your pageviews were back when you were accepted into the program? (Whatever he says, I understand it’s not a hard rule of thumb)

My guess is that they were zero – @RC had a very good business plan and is not a rookie at web sites and has been in the web news arena for many years –
