How my to point domain purchased through wordpress.com, to an outside site?

  I purchased a domain through wordpress.com. I would like to have my domain point to an outside site. How do I do that if I do not know the nameservers to the outside site, it is a company website? If I transfer my domain to another registrar will they automatically point my domain to the site I choose?

  Are you saying that you would like yourdomain.com to direct to externalsite.com?

  Or do you have a website with a hosting provider elsewhere that you want to be yourdomain.com?
