How old can a theme be?

    I’m looking at making some significant changes to my website and in the process realised my Theme hasn’t been updated since 2017 and the developer seems inactive. My site has years of content, menus, etc., and if I experiment with any new theme, a lot of the content isn’t visible and seems difficult, if not impossible given any new theme’s restrictions, to reinstate.

    But how long can I persevere with the old theme? Won’t I have issues with updating PHP and so on? Bear in mind, I’m quite good at working with my site, but I’m not skilled in the nuts-and-bolts of WordPress and coding.
