How or where do you find the edit page for the ‘about’ page?
-
Someone managed to leave comments on my ‘about’ page.
I see no link or anything to even edit that page or remove the comments. -
you should be able to see the ‘edit page’ link on your blue admin bar if you have a wp.com blog. otherwise, go to dashboard -> manage -> pages and edit from there.
to edit the comment, go to dashboard -> comments

THere is no “edit page” that I can find anywhere.
Only “edit profile” which does not show the unwanted comments. Therre us also “edit” for posts, again, the comments are not there. The unwanted comments do not show with the comments on posts anywhere in the edit comments areas
The comments show in the comment area of the side bar of the published post pages, as being on some “about” page.
I do not even find any link anywhere for the ‘about page’.
Not on the front part, nor in the back part -

What is the link to your blog? All WordPress.com blogs have a Dashboard. From there, go to Comments. There you’ll see the list of all comments on your blog; edit or delete the one you want.
-
Note that Pages and Posts are different things.
Also, if you’re signed in, you’ll see an Edit button on that blog page. Edit the page, and under “Discussion” de-select “allow comments.” Then no one will be able to leave comments.

Yep. I know that.
I can find the comments for posts.
I cannot find any link, of any kind, for anything at all anywhere, labeled “pages”
I cannot find any link, anywhere for anything labeled “about”

i think you have a self-hosted blog, in which case you have to go to http://wordpress.org/support to place your query. this is the forum for bloggers hosted by wp.com. please correct me if i’m mistaken.
-
Yep. Already found & read all that good stuff looooong before I ever posted a question.
…whatever
Thanks anyway.

Okay, if you won’t tell us, how about giving us a link to the About page, so we can look at it?

I’m wondering how he posts anything if he can’t find the admin stuff. By the way, this may be his blog: http://cappnonymous.wordpress.com/ . There is not about page in the page tabs.
-
Here’s the blog http://cappnonymous.wordpress.com/ and I note that it has no “pages” at all “About” or otherwise.
I think this may be a case of the default display of the theme providing an “About” blurb in the sidebar that disappears when any widgets are selected. But that’s just speculation at this point.
Off topic: And yeah IMO the primary reason that bloggers do not get their problems solved at all or expeditiously is because they are not specific. If you do not supply details up front then you cannot expect others to “intuit” what they may be. At bare minimum one ought to post a link to their blog and a link to the specific page or post, if that’s what the situation hinges on.

And, when someone does not read, and provide the information asked for, they aren’t going to get answers. We volunteers don’t just ask for the heck of it.
