how secure is it to post with wordpress?

    sadly it has become normal/routine for lawyers to write unfriendly letters/mails to website owners requesting hundreds of bucks due copyright reasons. since i plan to post articles that might reveal information that big companies would prefer to remain secret (nothing illegal) i wonder if wordpress is willing to protect me or whether they will give my ip and data to the lawyer.
