How should I interpret your stats?

    Hello all:

I have friends telling me they visited my blog. Yesterday, I got three likes on my latest post. Yet, for the past few days your stats read that I had zero readers. How are these people reading my blog without being detected/acknowledged by your visitor’s counter? Thank you for letting me know.

If they came through the Blog Reader, they aren’t counted as a hit.

Likes and shares are misleading when you are talking about page view stats. Your followers and anyone with a WordPress.com blog who is logged into WordPress.com can “like” and “share” your posts in several locations such as the Reader without ever clicking into your blog and creating a page view stat.

I choose to reduce my RSS Feed to “summary” here > Settings > Reading
For each article in a feed, show
    Full text
    Summary
Doing that compels followers to click in and read the full post on my blogs.

Thank you for your reply and suggestion. I am somewhat new to this and I am always learning. Thank you again.
