How the heck do you contact support?
-
The TOS said to contact support staff w/ any uncertainties about ad policy. I just can’t find a way to do it. I saw in a forum some people like to support.wordpress.com/contact, but that just gets me to the form I’m filling out now, which is for the forums!
Help?

Wow. I need more sleep. That should read, “some people said to go to support.wordpress.com/contact…”

This is apeer suppoort forum where Volunteers answer questions and only flag threads with questions they cannot answer for Staff attention. Yours is an easy question to answer.
any uncertainties about ad policy
There is only one advertising program called WordAds at WordPress.com and it’s for blogs on their own domains. This is the homepage for the WordAds program: http://www.wordads.co/ There you will find the application page as well as FAQs.

Aside from a blog being accepted into WordAds, no blogger initiated advertising, retailing or reselling the work or products created or services provided by anyone other than yourself is allowed on free hosted wordpress.com blogs. E-commerce transactions via shopping carts and the like cannot be conducted on free blogs from and being free hosted by wordpress.com

I’m not trying to be difficult here, but if that’s the case, then what do they mean by the following?
“To be clear, people writing their own original book, movie or game reviews and linking them to Amazon, or people linking to their own products on Etsy do NOT fall into this category. Here is a thread in the support forums that talks more about which affiliate links are OK or not OK.”
One of the things I do on my blog is write book reviews. I wanted to ask if 1.) Does this mean it’s ok to provide a link to Amazon for the book I reviewed and 2.) is it then ok if I get credit from Amazon for people who pass through via my link.
If item #1 is not ok, then I have a few links to take down. I haven’t done anything with item #2, but wanted to ask since I’m really starting to get into the book reviewing process.
Since I’m actually reading and reviewing the books myself, it’s not like there are going to be hundreds of these (not until I’ve been up for a LONG while anyway). If it is at all relevant, I also post original poems, essays, and (mainly) posts about writing and the writing process. So, it’s not like I’m trying to set up an e-commerce site. I just want people to be able to easily GET a book if I recommend it.

Here’s how to contact support (and I agree, it’s not clear). This is from a page in my blog on blogging:
Should you need to contact WordPress.com staff, directly, go to this page:
Notice, you won’t see a contact form. That’s because they want you to go through hoops first, but it is there. If the suggestions given on the page are of no use to you, what you need to do is click the ‘I didn’t find the right answer’ button, and then you’ll be presented with a small form. Be aware that that is not the contact form. What you need to do is to type a few words to do with your problem into the space given and then click the ‘I still didn’t find the right answer’ button (by the way, if the button doesn’t say this – don’t worry, WordPress.com change things frequently, but it’ll still be relevant). Next, you’ll be shown the contact form. Make sure you fill in the fields correctly – particularly make sure that the blog URL (web address) is for the blog you’re enquiring about. If it isn’t, click the little down arrow by the side of the URL that is showing and choose the correct one. If it’s not about your blog, then you’ll have to mention it in the content of your query.
Something to bear in mind is that it might take several days for Staff to get back to you. Also, if you contact them on a weekend you won’t hear from them til after it – Staff on WordPress.com rarely work here on weekends. This is true, also, of the forums.
To help them deal with your issue more efficiently, follow this advice:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/support-options/
and, before using their contact form, particularly read the info pertaining to that.

Apropos reviewing books on Amazon – yes you can do that. However, getting credit from them (ie, from affiliate links) is against the WordPress.com Terms of Service. You can, however, get publicity for books, art, etc, if it is your own work.Generally, if you want to make money from blogging (and don’t want or aren’t eligible for the WordPress.com own advertising program), it’s best to blog on something other than WordPress.com. So you can self-host or use one of the free hosts like Blogger (but even them have some rules against this sort of thing.

Thanks – both for the clarification on the linking rules (which were anything but clear), and for the information on contacting support.
