How the hell do I pay so I have a domain WITHOUT the “wordpress”?!

  Please, I´ve been searching for some time and can´t find the way so my domain is without the “wordpress” word. Also, I wonder, can I substitute “.com” for “.org” or “.edu”?

  As you work though the process described in the link husdal provided, at one point you will be given the paypal link to pay for the domain mapping and the domain registration. Just start the process and follow the instructions.

  Yeah…and It still baffles me that they haven’t added a pay directly by CC option yet, or even directly by PayPal, instead of those odd ‘credits’, which I suppose is now a still remaining relic from wp.com’s fledling beginnings.
