how to accept invitation as author of blog

  I sent an invitation to someone to be an author in my blog. The “accept” link leads to a sign up but once the person signs up, it does not take them automatically to my blog site. Are they doing something wrong? When they sign in, it asks them to create their own blog with list of pricing to upgrade.
