How to access all my photographs?

When I try to use photograps from my computer (iPhoto), I only get half the photos (out of 6,000)…the older half and none of the “current” ones I want to use. How do I access all my photos?

You’ve uploaded compressed .zip files to your site’s Media Library. The photos cannot be access while in this format.
You will need to upload the images in an uncompressed state.

I believe my photos are in an uncompressed state. I load them directly from my Nikon D80 memory card. The photos that appear and those that don’t were loaded in the same way. Also, I’m on a MacBook Pro, and these web sites seem to be giving instructions for Windows. Still lokking for help. Al Barton
