How to Access CSS to Customize Theme (Sela Theme)
-
Hi everyone. I’m currently using the free Sela theme on wordpress. I have been trying to remove the overlay box on the front home page or make it more transparent so I can see the imagine in the back – but I’m having a bit of trouble.
I found some css codes on this forum for doing so, but my question is HOW DO I EVEN ACCESS THE CSS STYLE SHEET to make any changes? I know this may seem like a very stupid question, but I’m really having a hard time finding it and I don’t know if it’s possible to make changes if I don’t have a premium account. I really want to make the box transparent because it’s covering a large chunk of my image.
Please help!
All I need to know is how to access that Css style sheet, as I already found the css to make the changes that I want. Thank you!The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, Custom CSS is a part of Custom Design, which is included in the WordPress.com Premium and WordPress.com Business plans.
If you decide to upgrade, you don’t actually edit the original CSS, what you do is to create CSS rules to override the original. Here are some resources from our Support documents.

Ah okay, so without premium or business I can’t make any changes right? I would have loved to pay for one month but I saw that I’d have to pay for a year.
Thank you!

Hi @h1972iti,
There is no FTP access to any WordPress.com sites.

What do you mean?
I use ftp to change WP files.
Maybe you mean if the hosting is at wordpress.com sever.
I installed WS on my hosting company server and use ftp to change files…. -
Hi @h1972iti,
These are the support forums for sites hosted here at WordPress.com.
As I said, “there is no FTP access to any WordPress.com sites”.
Since @molaliyu has a site hosted here at WordPress.com, they do not have FTP access to any files.
FTP access is only possible with self-hosted WordPress(.org) sites, which are not supported in these forums.
I hope this clarifies it.
