How to access the feed of a protected blog
-
My friend has invited me to read her blog, which she has ‘protected’ to allow only select readers. I’d like to subscribe to the feed, but am unable to because the blog is private. I’m subscribing to the feed through an IFTTT recipe. I’m using 2FA so I doubt I’ll be able to encode my username and password in the URL to access the feed. Is there any other option? Here’s the feed in question:
https://katiestriffolino.wordpress.com/feed/Thanks!
PS: This support form requires selecting one of *my blogs*, but the blog I’m having trouble with is not one listed in the menu, so I’m choosing one at random. My question is *not* in regards to
dreamlike.us, but rather the URL pasted above. Thx.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

My understanding is that because the site in question has been marked Private, the short answer is that you will not be able to read it via a feed reader. You will have to log in to her site to read the entries or subscribe to updates by email once you’ve accepted the invite to read her blog.
Nevertheless, I’ve tagged this for Staff response to confirm.

Hi Quinn,
I can confirm what justjennifer and timethief mentioned — private blogs do not have public feeds, so there isn’t a way to subscribe to that feed with a third-party service. You’ll need to follow the blog directly in the WordPress.com Reader and/or via email, or visit the blog directly to read its posts, instead.
