How to access very old account
-
Hi, I’m really struggling to access a very old wordpress account (possibly 10 years old). The Account Recovery link is unhelpful as I don’t have any Proof of Ownership. I’m a bit stumped about what to do but am eager to edit the content which is outdated.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The WordPress.com website you’ve linked to has a single post from 2010. Is that the site you are trying to access?
If it’s a different WordPress.com site or account, what is its site address? Do you still have the email address that the account is connected to? Have you tried putting all your known email addresses in the reset password form? Make sure you are logged out of this account first before trying password reset.

Hi, yes that is the same account. There were loads of other blog posts but I set them to Private about 5 years ago. I believe I still have the same email address but when I put this in, the linked email address took me to this account that I’m using now (no blogs linked to it). I’ve tried every combination of username and passwords that I can think of :(

Hi there!
If you’re unable to provide proof of account ownership, I’m afraid we won’t be able to help you get access to the account. We can set the site as private, though, if you prefer.
However, we can’t help with this in the forums. Please send an email to passwordhelp@wordpress.com, and our account recovery team will be happy to review the request for you.
Thanks!
