How to access wordpress?

  I downloaded wordpress for my website http://www.improveyourbeauty.com. As I logged in for the first time to edit my website, I encountered a huge problem. Everything left of the options side bar was blank white. Although I am not very familiar with wordpress, I’ve only seen youtube videos, I know what the start up page is suppose to look like and for some reason I am encountering this issue. If you can help me with this it will be greatly appreciated.

  Okay so what steps do I need to take in order to begin editing improveyourbeauty.com That is the only site I am concerned with.
