How to activate TWITTER button from the customize panel on my blog.

    I’m trying to activate TWITTER button from the customize panel on my blog. The TWITTER is now displayed on my blog page, but when i click on the button it comes up with ‘error link’ on the internet connection browser. I don’t know what code to enter into the TWITTER link in my customize panel to link to my twitter page. ( please note that i’m not requesting for the twitter sideline for displaying ‘latest tweets’ , i just want my blog users to be connected to my ‘Twitter’ profile and follow. Thank you for your assistance.
