  Can i make wordpress open a ‘doc’ or ‘docx’ file from my media library without forcing the use to download it?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hello! You can add a doc or docx file to your website by using the file block, and in the block option panel you can toggle the download or on off

  Hello Marshaquaker,

  If you’re trying to view your document on WordPress website when clicked, you’ll have to embed the document on your site.

  Embedding your document on a WordPress website would require you to host your document on a third party website and then Insert Media > Insert Embed.
  
  Your best option for hosting your embedded documents would be Scribed or Google Docs.
