This is the WordPress.COM support forum. You need to post to the WordPress.ORG support forum for help with your site because it is not a blog hosted by WordPress.COM with a custom design upgrade, and we don’t provide CSS editing support or any support at all for it.
WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and different http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

One way to add an image using CSS is to set it as a background on a container element in the header and then add top padding to that element to match the height of the image. These pages may help you:
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/background
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/padding-topThe best place to ask for support for a theme first is from the theme author, however, I tried checking https://themes.bavotasan.com/2013/ward-pro/ and that site is not working for me. This page is the closest I could find for information on the theme: http://bavotasan.com/2013/ward-pro-premium-wordpress-theme/
If the theme author doesn’t offer support, then the next best place to ask is at http://wordpress.org/support/ as timethief suggested. When you post there, you’ll have the best chance for getting help if you include a link to the page you’re working on.
Good luck!
