How to add a left sidebar

  Hi Everyone! do you have to have a certain theme to add a left side bar? Because i wanted to have a left side bar how do i do that?

  Sidebars and other widget areas: number and position by theme
  Vigilance theme description (no left sidebar)
  We cannot edit templates and themes and add sidebars. To get a left sidebar you will have to switch to a theme that provides one.
