Hi to wordpress staff, i want to know about how to add a link that show to my wordpress homepage only and not with the post link. I want “my link” at the sidebar be invisible when you click the post link. I want to keep it only to my homepage link. Can you help me about that matter because i try many different ways but it didn’t work, maybe you can tell me what the best thing to do?

This isn’t the best place to contact staff. Use the Support button on your dashboard for that.

But the volunteers in the forum might help you find a workaround. I’m not sure exactly what you mean here; could you show us an example of a blog that works this way?

And please change the link on your Profile: right now it’s liking to a Blogspot blog, and that’s useless for the purposes of this forum; we really do need to see your WordPress.com blog only.

i have a similar question. my blog, http://www.speakyourpassion.com used to show my static page when you clicked the url. now, it has all my pages on one sheet, like a posting page. I don’t know what happened!

also, I don’t want the “home” tab to show, so I deleted it in the edit eara but it is still there on the site. I can’t get it back in the edit area so I can shift over the second tab, which is supposed to be the home page now.

    thanks

my wordpress blog is femikey07.wordpress.com, and here is the example i want to be like on my blog too.. http://www.thewelkin.net/ he has a link their “computer desk” it shows at his homepage only because when you click other link post it doesn’t show up there. can you help me with that please?

The example you linked isn’t a WP.com blog. But I’m still not clear exactly what you want. What do you mean by the ‘homepage’ of your blog? Is it the page with your regular posts or a static page? If you want a static page, then go to your Dashboard – options – reading and you’ll see the options to change it.

no not the static page… what i mean is my wordpress homepage is http://www.femikey07.wordpress.com, at my homepage you can see everything including the sidebar links and widgets, what i want is i have a particular links that i want to show only at my wordpress homepage. Because if you click a post link like http://femikey07.wordpress.com/2008/02/25/extra-large-dog-beds/ you can still see the “my links” at my sidebar, i only want to show the “my links” at homepage only. Like for example on this blog http://www.thewelkin.net/ he has a link “computer desk” at his sidebar and when you click the post link, the computer desk link is not showing up, how can i do it like that? I leave comments to welkin but i didn’t get any reply yet, i want to know how he do that. thanks…

The “computer desk” link in the sidebar of the blog you referenced is a “category” as is indicated by the title above those listings. The author assigned the category “computer desk” to their post called “computer desk. When you click on the “computer desk” link in the sidebar, it brings up an archive page with all posts that the author has assigned to the category “computer desk.”

To do this on your blog, move the “category ” widget into your sidebar by going to (presentation > widgets; drag the “category 1 widget to the top of the “sidebar” pane and the click “save changes.”

You get the same behavior by clicking on the “blogging” category in your category widget although the theme you are using is designed to only show an excerpt of each post in the category. That is coded into the theme and cannot be changed. You would need to look at and choose a different theme that shows the full post in category view.
