How to add a Mailchimp mailing list on side bar of blog

I want to add a mailchimp mailing list option to my side bar.
I found out that I need to “upgrade”: can you tell me which upgrade to do, and how?

At WordPress.com, for security concerns, we don’t allow the embed code from MailChimp to be added; however, MailChimp has a great article on how you can get the link to your sign-up form that you can add to WordPress.com:

Once you have that link, you can add it in a text widget in your sidebar by adding the following code:
<a href="THE-MAIL-CHIMP-LINK">Subscribe to My Newsletter!</a>If you have any questions or need anything else, please let us know. Thanks!
