How to add a PDF from a MacBook to A Blog Post

Hi there – can anyone tell me how to upload a PDF into a blog post from my MacBook?
I write recipes on Pages, save as a PDF file and have been successfully uploading into my blog posts for years but I have just bought a Mac (I have always done this part of my posts from my husbands PC and it is very simple) and I can’t do it. I have figured out how to “drag and drop” but the file does not appear in the “add media” box. I should say I write the recipes in Pages (previously I wrote them on my iPad and emailed the PDF to myself, then saved on husband’s PC before “adding media” – so I understand the process, it just isn’t happening on my MacBook.
I can’t seem to select the PDF by using the “add media” “search for file” button either which is the alternative way of getting them into a post.
Do I need to download software to enable the transfer of PDFs from Macs? I have just bought it and have never used one before so I need some hand holding please folks!

You have two options.
First, you can upload a PDF file just like any other media. This will display the PDF file as a downloadable link:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/uploading-documents/Alternately, you can embed the PDF into your blog post by using a free service called Scribd:

Thank you Jackie. I figured out *a* way of uploading my PDFs – it was the exact way to get from computer *to* wordpress I was after help on. Ironically, a day or two later after figuring it out the new Recipe Short Code was released so I am using that now instead! Shame it means I’ve lost the format of my old faithful PDFs but I’m hopeful things will improve in the future with this new code :D

You’re still welcome to upload your PDFs to WordPress.com or via Scribd, if you wish. The recipe shortcode isn’t a replacement, of course – just a different way to display recipes. :)
