How to add a poll to the sidebar?

Hi!
I would like to know how to add a poll to the sidebar of my blog.
I’ve followed the instructions showed http://en.support.wordpress.com/polls/#adding-a-poll-to-your-sidebar but I still cant get the poll to show on the sidebar. I copy the code to the text widget but I still cant get it to appear on my sidebar….How should I proceed? Do I need to create a pollDaddy account before using the poll? Thanks!Debora

Yes. This is what those instructions state:
If you are using polls for the first time on WordPress.com you will be prompted to create or import an account. Choose either option and follow the instructions presented to you.
