How to Add a second section on my About Page
-
Hi…
I have an about us page:
http://blog.eventsair.com/about/
How can add a second section, with the same header and paragraph text as the first section?
Also, since this is an informational page only, how do I remove comments and all the blog type stuff?
Thanks,
Alec

Hi Alec!
To add a new section you need to create a new Page. Here’s how: https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/#create-a-new-page
It is possible to disable comments on the Pages (sections) you create. Here’s how: https://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-disable-comments/#enabledisable-comments

Hi…
thanks for the prompt reply. I had found the page attribute section, and made my two pages connect via the Parent attribute. But, these remain two distinct and separate pages, just both accessible from the About Centium Software button in the menu bar. I would like to find a way to include both on the SAME page, just two sections, same heading level…one would say “About Centium Software” and the second section (same page) would say About EventsAIR. BOTH sections on the same physical page, NOT two separate pages connected via the menu selection.
Thanks,
Alec

Edit the Page and include the additional text on it and then click the update link. For editing see:

Sorry I was unclear…my apologies. I did that, but my heading styles would not apply…does not affect the formatting, so I cannot have a second Heading one or two…

Hey Alec,
It looks like both headings are now included on your About page here:

Here’s what I’m seeing:
Is this what you were going for? If I’m missing something, please let me know!

What you are seeing is what is happening right now, but I want to tighten the spacing before and after the headings…there’s a lot of white space there…just need to know where I go to reduce the leading or spacing above and below the heading.

Thanks for clarifying Alec! Can you give this bit of CSS a try?
#post-1 .entry-title { line-height: 5px; }We can adjust the pixel number to achieve the look you’re going for. Also, this will only apply on the About page.
Just place that under Appearance -> Customize -> CSS.
Also, just a note, I’m going to close your other thread here:

Jeremy,
You are da bomb. Perfect. I was kinda new to the whole CSS process in WordPress, so not only does this fix the spacing, it shows me how the process really works. I have saved the original CSS in a text file for future reference, and I think I will need to find a CSS WYSIWIG tool or something to make CSS edits easier down the road.
Thanks so much!
