How to add a sidebar widget in my theme?

    I want to add a new widget area in my blog, like a sidebar, but in my theme there are only widget areas in footer. Can you help me?

    Hi maysafaggion,

    Unfortunately, because the theme you are using – Ever After, only offers 4 footer widgets, you will not be able to add a sidebar widget. One of your theme’s main characteristics is that it has a single column that takes up the entire width of the page. This is the reason why it only offers footer widgets.

    So sorry that explaining the above is the only thing that I can do to help. If you really need sidebar widgets, you can try exploring other themes. There are close to 300 themes available and many of them do have sidebar widget areas.

    If you’re a CSS editing whiz and have the Custom Design upgrade you can move your footer area widgets to a sidebar. Otherwise, no.
