how to add a site banner

Hey there! This particular theme doesn’t come with a banner feature built in, and while I understand the ability to add one is coming, we’re not quite there yet.
Would you like to stick with this theme until then, or would you like help finding one that has a built-in banner?

Just letting you know, I checked with theme team. They let me know it’ll be a while for this theme.
If you’re planning to upgrade the site, we can probably help you find a way to add this via CSS. For what it’s worth though, I think your site looks lovely as is.

thank you! May I ask, how would I add it? And what is CSS? I’m not familiar with these terms haha

Hi there,
CSS is a computer language for styling web pages. It is what determines the “look and feel” of your theme, for example. On free sites this cannot be edited, but if you upgrade to our WordPress.com Premium Plan (or higher) the customization tools added in that plan include a CSS editor you can use to tweak your theme to the highest degree possible.
The Premium plan comes with live chat support (24hrs Monday – Friday) and we would actually help you with adding the CSS since it’s within the scope of what we can assist with.

But I also agree with @supernovia that the site you have now is quite lovely. I wouldn’t change a thing. :)
