  hi, i am actually new here. Can anyone help me with the adding of tabs to my blog? appreciate your kind help(:

  You can see the About tab there, right? Tabs are for static pages, not posts, but some themes like 2010 have a Custom Menu feature that means you can make page tabs link to anything. Here:

  In a standard default wordpress.COM blog, tabs are static pages.

  With the theme you are using though, you can use the new custom menu feature and add categories or external links to the top navigation in addition to the standard static pages, and even have dropdown style menus.
