How to add accordion style FAQ on static page?

I’m trying to place an accordion style menu on a static page for FAQ – You click on the question and the answer drops down directly below…From my understanding, there is a plugin that can accomplish this, but it’s only available on .ORG vs .COM pages due to javascript (I don’t know why this is?). So I know it can be done with strictly HTML and CSS, but I don’t know how to go about it on wordpress.
Support Chat directed me to this link: https://designmodo.com/css3-accordion-menu/
Since I don’t know what I’m doing though it was no help to me. Can someone walk me through the process or tell me what to copy/paste and where?

  • Hi there,

As an alternative, you can use page jumps to create your FAQ page:

Hi there, due to the way WordPress.com is structured, there are some code limitations for security reasons. You can read more about those limitations, and the reasons for them on our Code support page.

I know of no way to do accordion menus by CSS alone. If we had access to the HTML, it would be possible, but since this is a multi-user system where we all share the same theme files, any change to those theme files would change it for everyone using that theme.
