Personal attacks threads will all be looked at with the “modlook” tag for sure! If you are involved or see personal attacks, tag it as the help is appreciated.

Rest assured that I will be having a great time in the company of folks that make me smile and laugh. Also note I have really no concerns about the forum being “manned”. There are lots of volunteers who can answer questions at wordpress.com. And, Automattic has been advertising for a paid Moderator (Happiness Engineer’s) position for a long time now http://automattic.com/jobs/ Remarkably, the job posting which requires:

does not state whether it’s a wordpress.org position or a wordpress.com that they are aimi9ng to “man”. -
And that ad has been their for a while. As I understand it, when it comes to staff, there is no line separating all the different tentacles of AutoMATTic. I thought about applying, but I’m short on html and css.

I appreciate the position you have taken with regard to zero tolerance for personal attacks. With reagrd to the examples, I have not been “involved” in any way. I have simply been a target, who turned the other cheek. Hopefully, we will not have to use the “modlook” tag frequently because personal attacks not tolerable anywhere IRL and they should not be tolerated in cyberspace either. -
Opening up the forum to encourage verbal abuse IMHO would be a very bad move. At present I’m appalled that personal attacks are not being removed from forum threads.
Here are two examples:
(1) In the last week I’ve already been the target of a nosy space cadet. She did not address the topic of the thread in her post but instead launched a personal attack on me. It was not deleted from the forum thread and she was not admonished by either the Moderator or staff.timethief, if I have never once been told or emailed by staff to watch my behavior unlike you who has been repeatedly told by staff, emailed by staff, and publicly told on the forum by former moderator drmike about your bad behavior, doesn’t that tell you something? I would do a complete 180 and change my behavior if I got even one email by them. But you ignore staff and have even argued with them on the forum.
You are the queen of personal attacks. You even started a new post months ago in the off topic forum lashing out at raincoaster when everything you were accusing her off is what you were doing.
You hate children which is clearly obvious with how you have treated them on here. You throw around COPPA but WordPress doesn’t have an age limit (which people would lie about anyway) because WordPress isn’t targeted towards children.
You police the forum and individual threads like you own it. You have told me and others how to act here and how to reply to threads. Like towards me in bold text on the OFF TOPIC FORUM:

Many have left the forum and others have said they would never come back again because of how you have treated them when they only asked a simple question. Even Judy who helped out on the forum has left and hasn’t posted here in a month because of how you treated her on here:

You actually expect people to wait to reply to someone until you make your presence?
One blogger months ago got a new blog so he could tell you off instead of using his original blog so you wouldn’t stalk him on his blog.
You followed a woman to her blog so you could attack her there about her so called abuse of the tagging system. But the woman you were defending to the first woman was the one abusing the tagging system using tags that didn’t apply to her posts.
You were so against the off topic forum being started when it was never your choice or your decision. But there you are (though you have said you would leave but never have) policing that forum and harassing people.
You leave comments like “Trent can you delete this thread, Trent can you delete that person’s comments, Trent can you look over this thread”. And yelling at people saying to stop putting whatever silly tags they had put on forum posts.
I don’t know why you are so consumed with hate. Don’t reply to questions if it bothers you so. Most who volunteer here come to answer a few questions and then leave. While you are so consumed with WordPress and WordPress policy to the point that you treat people horribly and you think you own it and can tell others what to do.

I forgot to add that you accuse children of having bad parents because children having a blog MUST mean they have bad parents. I rather see a child having a blog learning something new instead of running wild on the streets drinking, doing drugs, and having sex.
