How to add authors to a blog?

    I am helping with a blog on a friend’s website. Their website is not run by WordPress, but their blog (that is on the website) is. I want to add authors to the blog but there is no option for it. Their toolbar in /blog/wp-admin is extremely unlike the ones I have previously worked with (since I have only worked with WordPress websites). I know that they’ve added authors before, but nobody seems to know how they did it. Any help?

    update: the blog i need help with is not the one that wordpress automatically added at the bottom of my post. that is NOT the website i need help with
