How to add blog post excerpts to static front page?

I have a free wordpress account. My blog is in Portuguese but I have tab in the menu that takes you to a sister blog in english. Somehow the sister blog, which has the same theme displays excerpts of the recent blog posts at the bottom of the static homepage, while the principle site does not. I would like to add the blog post excerpts to the Portuguese static homepage to copy the english version but I have no idea how to do this! I can’t to html on the homepage with the free subscription. There must be a way to do this since the English blog has the excerpts! I’ve searched online but only found html fixes. Any ideas?

Hi,
The English version, https://ecovillagekuanyin.wordpress.com/, has the Homepage Template assigned to the static front page. See the Homepage Template section of the Gateway theme guide. On the Portuguese site, https://ecovilakuanyin.wordpress.com/, the static front page evidently has a different template assigned. If that is the case, simply switch the template to the Homepage Template.
