How to add blogpost extracts to a page
-
Hi there,
I found a lot of answers to similar questions but non of them worked for my problem.
I’d like to set up a menu e.g named “Destinations” and add different countries as sub-menu, e.g. “Australia”.
If someone clicks on “Australia” I want to show them a single page with different blogpost extracts on it so they can click on one and are then redirected to the full blogpost. Not a big thing actually but I can’t find this option anywhere and I can’t find an explanation how to do that. I just found one about how to create a drop-down menu but that’s no problem.
Do I have to change something in the settings or is my theme (Rosalie) not offering this at all? Thanks a lot for your help!

Hi Eveline,
I believe that the Rosalie theme posts are displayed automatically as excerpts (cut off at 55 words) on the blog page and archives pages. I’m not certain because it’s a premium theme and I may not be seeing all of the available options at Customize. Like all premium themes, Rosalie has a Premium Theme Support forum here, https://premium-themes.forums.wordpress.com/forum/rosalie, where you may pose questions directly to the theme authors.
See the Category Pages support page regarding organizing posts by category and setting up a menu that includes links to category pages. A category page will display only posts assigned to that specific category.
I’d like to set up a menu e.g named “Destinations” and add different countries as sub-menu, e.g. “Australia”.
In that case “Destinations” would be a category assigned to selected posts and the top-level menu item, and “Australia” might be a subcategory of “Destinations” assigned to some posts. See the “Add menu items” and “Organize your menu and add sub-menus / drop-down menus” sections of the Custom Menus support page for relevant instructions and illustration.

Since category pages are archives pages, posts in category pages will (I think) automatically appear as excerpts with the Rosalie theme activated.

Thanks a lot!
Haven’t realised that there is a separate menu for Rosalie available.
I found similar questions there :)Thanks so much!
