Hello @abrahamk1,
You can add button to your home page featured image as instructed below:
Buttons
You can add these classes to your links in the HTML Editor, to create buttons:
For example:
PLEASE NOTE: In the above part of the code where you see insert text here is where you write the text you wish to see in the button area on the featured image.
Please go through the following link to replicate your site to exactly as shown in the Shoerditch theme.

Let us know how it goes. All the best.

Hi,
Thanks for getting back to me.
I have read this many times though still not quite sure how to proceed.
Would you be able to step by step this?
I am aware of the HTML editor though when i go there the featured image is not within the HTM?
Appreciate your help.
Many thanks,
Abraham

Hello @abrahamk1,
I can surely that. Let’s do this step by step.
1. Go to My Sites- Site Pages and select the page titled Home.
2. Add the content you need on the home page editor.
3. IMPORTANT STEP: Assign the page to the Panel Page Template from the Page Options box.
3. Add Featured Image, which will be displayed behind the text in that panel.
4. Go to Customizer and look for Homepage settings and choose Static Front Page. Now you will be given two options Homepage and Post page. Click on the Homepage dropdown and select ‘Home’.Finish the above steps and then head back to you Site Pages- Home and add the HTML classes provided into the HTML EDITOR as instructed in the previous reply.
Please try each of these steps carefully and you should be able to achieve what you need. If you feel stuck in the process, please feel free to write back. Il be more than happy to help.
Let me know anyway!

Hello @abrahamk1,
I just realised I had assumed your site was using the Shoreditch theme. It looks like your site is using the Radcliffe 2 theme. I am not sure if the above given steps might do justice in your Radcliffe 2 theme site. Please let me know if you need newer steps to achieve what you need. In the meanwhile, I am testing what you need on a test site.
Sorry for providing steps for Shoreditch assuming you were using the Shoreditch theme.
Let me know anyway!

Hi,
Yes i am using the Shoreditch theme.
What makes you think I’m using Radcliffe?
Also i have made your steps thanks for those :)
Though now I have the featured image as the background image for the whole page rather than just as a bar at the top?
Thanks,
Abraham

Hello,
I just checked for the theme on your site and can confirm it is Shoreditch and not Radcliffe 2. Lack of sleep can make me succumb to such blunders. Apologies :)
However, I am glad you tried out the first few steps and are now just a few more steps away from having your home page look just like shown on the demo.
Follow these steps and see if the background image taking up the whole page issue resolves on its own. If not please write back and I will be more than happy to help. Few more steps are as follows:
1. Select the page to which you just assigned the Panel Page Template as “Front page”, and then choose another page as “Posts page” to display your blog posts.
2. Add some child pages to the page to which you just assigned the Panel Page Template.
More detailed instructions here: https://wordpress.com/theme/shoreditch/Let me know it how goes!

Hi,
Apologies I did get back thou not sure why it didn’t get through.
In regards to your points above –
1. This is done and my homepage now has “Front Page” and the blog page as “Posts page”.
2. I added child pages though they didn’t fix the background image. When adding a child page it just featured below the homepage so you can scroll down and see the child page with the homepage, the content was all put into the homepage as one?
After this I removed the child pages but happy to get them back and publish for you to see what happens.
Many thanks,a
